Lake Conditions:

The lake is Open year-round. Campers, Day Users, and Anglers are Welcome! All Guests must sign a liability waiver and pick up a parking pass upon arrival on the property.

Attention Anglers!
The lake is 0% frozen.

Day Use is open from Sun-up to Sun-down you must register prior to 4:00 pm of your arrival date.

Attention DAY USE/Anglers Day Use will be closed on May 3rd, 2025 for our Open Water Tournament. Only Anglers in the tournament will be allowed to fish that day.

Attention Campers! All wells are currently open. Please bring plenty of drinking water with you. Mountain Road and a few sites are shut down for site restoration. The rest of the main campground is open.

Current Fire Ban Information:

**Campfires ARE allowed. Due to high winds and the National Weather Service recommendations the Wellington Caretakers can call for a RED FLAG WARNING at anytime. We thank you for helping us keep the forest safe!

CO Rd 68/Wellington Lake Rd:

RD 68 has been graded 03.20.25

RD 68 has been plowed and is currently snow and ice packed in some areas. Recommended 4-Wheel drive only. It is NOT Recommended to take Buffalo Creek Road during winter as it is NOT county maintained.

*The most reliable, year-round access to the lake is via County Road 68 from Bailey, CO.

Camping Information:

The Campground is OPEN year-round, and reservations are made online. If you are looking for a same-day camping reservation, please call to book over the phone. Walk-up Camping is available on site on non-peak season days only. Camp sites #22-75 will be closed starting November 2024 until May 2025 for site restoration.

We are SOLD OUT of Ice for the 2024 Season. Please bring Ice with you on your adventure.

Campground Reservations:

Campsites may be reserved through the online booking portal as early as 3 months in advance of your check-in date at midnight.

*Guests may book earlier than 3 months via the Advanced Booking process. Please note that if your check in date is within 3 months but your additional dates fall outside of the 3 months, the Advanced Booking fees will apply to all dates outside of the 3-month window.
