Camping Arrival Time Starts at 2pm on the arrival date.

If you arrive prior to 2pm a Day Pass must be purchased and you must check in for Day Use until 2pm on your arrival date. You can contact our office to have a discounted Camper Day Pass added to your reservation.

We offer year-round, dog-friendly camping in 75 beautiful sites ringing the lake as well as 2 large private group areas. The general campground layout can be seen on the map at the bottom of the page.

Online Reservations can be made online 3 months in advance of your check in date or booked early through our Advanced Booking service at an additional fee, more information is below.

Photos and descriptions of every campsite are available on the Book Camping Page.

For Standard Sites and Group Sites, only two bookings may be reserved under one group coordinator’s name for the same dates. If you require more than two Group Sites (30+ guests) you must visit our Large Group Areas page and reserve one of those areas.

All Guests must sign a Waiver when entering the Campground.

standard Sites

Lakefront Site

Lakefront Site

Each standard site can accommodate a maximum of 6 people (ages 6 and up) and 2 vehicles; we do not set a limit on tents. Towed trailers do not count towards the vehicle limit. All standard sites have one picnic table and a metal fire ring.

Lakefront Sites are perched on the edge of the water and offer the most convenient lake access.

Hillside Sites often have a view of the lake and are just a short walk from the water.

Mountain Road Site #67

Mountain Road Site #67

Mountain Road Sites are situated on the dirt road above the Hillside sites, have the most forest ambiance and are still just a short stroll to the beach. These sites are best suited for tent campers as the road may be too steep and bumpy for hauling in trailers.

Guests staying in Hillside and Mountain Road sites can access the lake through a day use area: Rainbow, Cutbow, Brookie or Rocky Point.

Group Sites

Each of the 12 Group Sites in the campground can accommodate a maximum of 15 people and 5 vehicles. Towed trailers do not count towards the vehicle limit. We do not set a limit on the number of tents. There are 6 Lakefront Group sites and 6 Hillside Group Sites.

Guests who would like to book more than two sites (whether standard or group sites) for the same dates must either book a private event area or have more than one group coordinator to complete the additional bookings.

The Group Sites are all spacious, relatively flat and a great option for parties traveling with large RVs and trailers. Each group site has 3 picnic tables and a communal fire pit. Larger groups are best served by booking a Large Group Area like Scout Camp or Royal Elk Meadow.

Facilities

All roads on the Wellington Lake property are dirt and can be bumpy, steep and narrow. Please keep this in mind when planning your trip and call us if you need specific information about road conditions or campsites.

Each site is within walking distance to a rustic vault toilet. There are no showers in the campground but a dip in the lake can feel just as refreshing! There is no drinking water available; you must bring in all the drinking water you will require for your stay.

Many sites can fit RVs and trailers, but there are no water or electrical hookups. On the Book Camping Page, you can filter campsites based on your individual needs. Generators are not permitted between 10 pm and 8 am. There is no dump station at Wellington Lake.

how to reserve camping:

Sites can be reserved on the online reservation platform as early as 3 months in advance of the check-in date at midnight MST. Please note that if your check in date is within 3 months but your additional dates fall outside of the 3 months, then the Advanced Booking fees will apply to all dates outside of the 3-month window. The 3-month window is exactly 3 months, NOT 90 days. Sites book up very quickly for summer weekends.

Camping may be booked more than 3 months ahead of the check-in date for additional fees by creating an “Advanced” Booking.
