Policies:
These policies are specific to equipment rentals and are in addition to all rules and policies stated in the liability waiver.
Cancellations:
If a cancellation is requested 15 days or more prior to the scheduled rental date, the guest will be refunded less a fee of $15 per kayak/board, bike and $75/dock rental or private beach area. If a cancellation is requested 14 days or fewer prior to the scheduled rental date, a refund will not be issued. Cancellation Request Form
In the event of extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions as determined by Wellington Lake, guests may be provided the option to forfeit their reservation with the option to reschedule, based on availability. Refunds will not be issued for inclement weather.
All rentals/retail items added to a worry-free booking reservation will be included in worry-free booking fees. All items are included in the worry-free money back guarantee.
REntal times and Equipment:
Rental Period: A half-day rental is for up to 4 hours. A full-day rental is for up to 8 hours. Rental hours are 9:00am - 5:00pm daily. Campers with full day rental reservations may choose to keep equipment overnight- Don’t miss Sunrise & Sunset paddles! In this case, all equipment must be returned at 9am the following morning.
Late Returns: We ask guests to return equipment on time so that it is ready for the next guest’s timely enjoyment. If equipment is not returned within 15 minutes of the scheduled end time, guests will be charged by the hour in late return fees.
Damaged equipment: At the time of check-out, renters should fully inspect their gear and report any damages to staff before leaving the rental cabin. If equipment is returned damaged or dirty the guest is responsible for repair costs up to the full retail value of the equipment. The charges will be added to the credit card on file. If equipment or rental is missing or stolen, the renter is responsible for the full retail cost.
Entrance Pass: A valid day use pass or campground booking is required to rent and use equipment at Wellington Lake. Renters are not permitted to remove the rental equipment from Wellington Lake property.

Swimming Ability: Guests, including children, must be able to swim to use our rental paddle boards. There are no lifeguards on duty at any time at Wellington Lake and no rescue services are provided.
Life Jackets: Life jackets must be worn on the lake. Guests can choose to wear the life jackets provided by Wellington Lake with their rental or supply their own US Coast Guard approved life jacket.
Age Restrictions: Guests must be 18 or older to rent a board. Anyone under 18 must be actively supervised by a nearby adult while using a rental equipment.
Weight Limit: Guests must not exceed the limit of 280 pounds on a paddleboard; 397 pounds on a single kayak and 550 pounds on a tandem kayak.
Drugs and Alcohol: Guests may not rent or use our equipment if they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Wellington Lake reserves the right to deny rental to anyone suspected of being under the influence.
Waivers: The guest renting the equipment and all other guests who will be using the equipment are required to sign a liability waiver at the time of arrival on the property. Any minors who use the rental equipment must have a liability waiver signed by their parent or guardian. The digital waiver should be signed on a smart phone or computer before arrival at the lake. If you are unable to complete the waiver ahead of time, you can complete a paper waiver upon arrival.
