We offer year-round, pet-friendly camping in 75 beautiful sites ringing the lake. Our lakefront sites sit perched on the edge of the lake while our hillside sites often have a view of the lake and are just a short walk from the water. The campsites range from snug tenting spots to more spacious sites that can accommodate large RVs; however, we do not have any hook-ups.
All roads inside the lake and campground area are dirt and can be bumpy, steep, and narrow. Please keep this in mind when planning your trip and call us if you need specific information about road conditions or sites.
Each site is within walking distance to a rustic vault toilet. There is no drinking water available; you must bring in all the drinking water you will require for your stay. There are no showers in the campground, but a dip in the lake can feel just as refreshing!
All reservations are made online. Sites become available 3 months in advance of the check-in date and book up quickly for summer weekends. Some sites may be booked more than 3 months out for additional fee through our advanced booking service. Please visit the Group Bookings page to find out more information about hosting a large event at the lake and our advanced booking service.
CHECK-IN: You are welcome to check in for camping any time after 12 noon.
When the Visitor Center is open, please stop in to pick up your parking passes, sign a liability waiver, purchase firewood and find out about the lake facilities. When the Visitor Center is closed, please follow the camping check-in instructions on the Self-Pay Station, located on the outside of the Visitor Center.
*Please note that ALL campers over 18 must sign and all minors must be listed on a liability waiver for entry. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
CHECK-OUT: You are required to leave your site before 11:00am.
All trash must be removed from the site and fire pit to avoid additional fees. Your fire must be out-cold when you depart your site. Trash and recycling dumpsters are available on site for refuse. There is no need to stop by the Visitor Center at check-out.
QUIET HOURS: 10:00pm to 8:00am
During this time, we do not permit campers to run generators, play loud music, or in any way disturb other visitors. We ask that you respect your neighbors so everyone may enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
Each campsite has a fire pit where you are welcome to enjoy a fire. In accordance with several state and federal agencies, we ask that you do not bring in any firewood to prevent the spread of invasive species. Firewood is available for purchase at the Visitor Center for $5 a bundle of 10 pieces. Collecting or cutting of firewood is not permitted; firewood must only be acquired by purchase.
We are located in Jefferson County, Colorado. During a Stage 2 Fire Ban, campfires, charcoal grills, candles, and smoking outside are prohibited. In a fire ban, you are still allowed to use propane camp stoves and propane fire pits.
Please call the Jefferson County Fire Information Hotline at 303-271-8200 for the current conditions.
