Guests are welcome to visit the lake year-round to enjoy all of their favorite outdoor activities. From ICE fishing to hiking, cross-country skiing, fat tire biking or relaxing, you can do it all on a day trip to Wellington Lake!

Youth (ages 6-15): $6 per person

Tots (ages 0-5): Free

*Visitors can enjoy access to the lake, beaches and trails daily from Sunrise to Sunset.

 

Ice Thickness Measurements

All Fishermen must sign a liability waiver upon arrival on the property.

Fishermen are responsible for their own safety.

*Measurements are taken weekly at measuring check points and are only an estimate of thickness. Anyone who risks walking on the ice must take their own measurements as conditions change daily.

The lake is currently 75% frozen; No Measurements were taken since 02/16/2024 due to unstable Ice conditions.

Fall & winter recreation Registration

We now have a retail store where we offer snacks, cold and hot drinks and a fireplace to warm up this winter.

Visitors may register one of two ways:

  1. Pre-Book online or over the phone by calling our office at (303) 838-5496 from 10:00am-4:00 pm daily. We can answer questions, register you for a visit and take your payment over the phone. When you arrive at the lake, there will be a parking pass with your last name on it on the outside of the building at the Self-Registration Kiosk.

  2. Use the Self-Registration Kiosk on the front of the office to register once you arrive at the lake.

*ALL visitors over 18 must sign and all minors must be listed on a liability waiver for entry. Guests can follow the link to sign a digital waiver on a computer or phone or complete a paper waiver at the Self-Registration Kiosk.

*ALL Day-Use fees are payable by credit/debit card only.

DAY USE CLOSURE for a Tournament on Sunday, February 17th 2024 

Day Use will be closed on the following dates

October 7th 2023 for our Sucker fish Tournament

November 11th 2023 for our Open Water Tournament

February 17th, 2024 for our Ice Fishing Tournament.

Only Anglers who are registered for the tournament will be allowed to fish on the day of the tournament. Anglers are allowed to bring friends and family who are not registered to enjoy the tournament, for a discounted day use price. Day Use will be closed to all other Anglers and Guests on the day of the tournament.

Wellington Lake is a great place for friends, family, and co-workers to meet up and enjoy the great outdoors! Groups can join us for a day-long event, or an overnight camp-out. Please visit the Groups page for more information.


Rules and regulations

All guests are required to complete a liability waiver upon arrival at the lake. The waiver may be signed ahead of time to speed up the check-in process by following this link. This document details our regulations and explains that fines may be imposed for rule violations. In order to protect the natural resources and our guests, we patrol the property frequently and will not hesitate to fine those found not to be in compliance. Please respect our rules so that all visitors, as well as future generations, may enjoy this spectacular place.


Main Campground Road is closed during winter for cross-country ski track. You are able access those areas by parking in Brookie and walking-in to the main campground area.
